The Memorial rises above visitors looking as heavy as the weight of the Holocaust upon human conscience. The roof is a pool from which water flows down the structure’s sides like tears shed by humanity. Along with water marks, the Memorial’s walls and floor are scarred with light-strips. The Interior is comprised of hundreds of Holocaust survivors' pictures, reminding us of the magnitude of the tragedy, yet are in the form of the Tree of Life, a symbol of Hope and Perseverance. Benches allow visitors to contemplate the encompassing Tree, while listening to the sound of the surf and falling water.
